A two-vehicle wreck in Speedwell left three people injured Sunday afternoon.
According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2014 Chevy Equinox driven by Rita Lane Lambdin, 63, of Speedwell, was attempting to make a left turn onto Cawood Drive from Hwy. 63. A 2008 Honda Civic driven by Jerry Wayne Hayes, 66, of Jacksboro, was traveling east on Hwy. 63 around 12:47 p.m.
The report states that Lambdin’s vehicle “failed (to) yield the right-of-way and traveled into the pathway of (Hayes’) vehicle causing a collision.”
Lambdin and a 52-year-old passenger in Hayes’ vehicle were injured and flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, the THP reports.
Hayes was injured and transported to Lafollette Medical Center by EMS, according to the report.
Lambdin was wearing a seat belt and did not have a passenger. According to the report, charges are pending against Lambdin but not definite. Hayes was wearing a seat belt and no charges are currently pending against him, the report states.
The investigation is ongoing by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
