A Tazewell, Tennessee family was the first at Middlesboro ARH to welcome a new baby in 2016.
Grayson Jaxon Ott, son of Aundria Seigler and Jason Ott, made his appearance at 12:43 a.m. on Jan. 2.
Middlesboro ARH Certified Nurse Midwife Meredith Eades delivered the 8-pound and 6-ounces bundle of joy. Grayson measured in at 20 inches long.
Grayson comes into the world with one brother and three sisters — Landon, 7, Olivia, 4, Aleeah, 2, and Alaina, 1.
As the first baby born at Middlesboro ARH in 2016, Grayson and his family received numerous baby items to help start off the new year. The hospital gave Grayson and his family a large, baby bathtub full of baby essential items every baby needs including a baby monitor.
Middlesboro ARH was not the only ones giving out gifts to the new baby and his family. Grayson and his family also received a $100 gift certificate from Food City’s Baby Club along with Baby Club items.
Middlesboro ARH Hospital offers private labor-delivery-recovery rooms with private baths in a home-like atmosphere where the focus is on a family-centered birthing experience. Once the baby is born, the hospital offers rooming in for parents and baby to enhance newborn teaching with a newborn nursery nurse available and dedicated to this service 24 hours a day.
OB-GYN physicians Dr. Nathan Mullins, Dr. John Williamson, and Midwife Meredith Eades, and OB nursing staff provide individualized care for moms and babies.
Middlesboro ARH Hospital also offers a comfortable nursery with a state-of-the-art security system.
“Location, comfort and hospitality supported by a team of highly experienced physicians and nurses are important when selecting an environment to give birth,” said Rhonda Hensley, OB Nurse Manager at Middlesboro ARH.
In 2015, 252 babies were delivered at Middlesboro ARH Hospital.
