UnitedHealthcare has finalized new provider agreements with Tennova Healthcare hospitals, including Physicians Regional Medical Center, North Knoxville Medical Center, Turkey Creek Medical Center, Jefferson Memorial Hospital, LaFollette Medical Center and Newport Medical Center, effective recently. Lakeway Regional Hospital also continues to be in network with UnitedHealthcare.
“We are pleased to reach a new agreement with UnitedHealthcare that ultimately benefits our patients the most,” said Neil Heatherly, chief executive officer of Physicians Regional Medical Center and Tennova Healthcare’s East Tennessee market leader. “At Tennova Healthcare, we understand how important it is to have access to healthcare close to home and work. We remain committed to providing quality, compassionate care for all members of our community.”
The new contracts provide UnitedHealthcare members in-network access to these six hospitals in East Tennessee and their services, whether elective or emergency. Physicians on the hospitals’ medical staffs are also in the UnitedHealthcare network.
“Tennova Healthcare is an important provider of healthcare services, and this renewed network relationship lays the foundation for continued collaboration that gives individuals and families access to critical health services in their local community,” said Greg Reidy, chief executive, UnitedHealthcare of Tennessee.
One of the state’s largest health networks, Tennova Healthcare includes 17 hospitals and more than 100 physician clinics. The combined network includes approximately 2,600 licensed beds, 2,400 physicians on the combined active medical staffs, and 9,600 employees, with more than 75,000 admissions and 460,000 emergency department visits each year.
