A New Tazewell man charged in an alleged burglary on Ferguson Ridge Road has also been charged in connection with an alleged burglary on Locust Grove Road.

According to Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department (CCSD) Det. Tim Shrout, Billy Rawls entered a building on Locust Grove Road without permission of the owner and allegedly stole an ATV earlier this year.

The four-wheeler was recently recovered by officers with the Middlesboro, Kentucky, Police Department.

Rawls, of New Tazewell, has been charged with theft over $1,000 and burglary, Shrout said. He is currently lodged in the Claiborne County Jail.

Rawls was also allegedly involved in a burglary on Ferguson Ridge Road on May 15, along with Dylan Dewayne Williams of New Tazewell.

After following up on leads in that case, Williams and Rawls were both charged with aggravated burglary and theft over $10,000.

“Through investigation and tips we received from the public we were able to solve these cases and recover the items,” said Shrout. “We appreciate the other agencies involved as well as the public.”

If you have any information regarding a crime, you are asked to call the CCSD at 423-626-3385. All calls will remain anonymous.
