AT&T has added a new cell tower to its 4G LTE network in Harrogate near the campus at Lincoln Memorial University to give customers faster, more reliable wireless service in Claiborne County.

The changes will help Harrogate customers get the most out of their mobile devices. With 4G LTE service, they’ll see better service when watching videos, posting to social media or texting family and friends.

“This is great news for LMU’s students, faculty, staff and visitors to campus as well as the larger Harrogate community,” said Lincoln Memorial University President Dr. B. James Dawson. “LMU is excited to be part of this announcement and looks forward to the enhanced service here.”

“This new 4G LTE cell site on LMU’s campus will help the Claiborne County area be that much more attractive to future investments and new residents,” said State Sen. Frank Niceley.

“This expansion is an important part of keeping our communities connected to the modern services our citizens demand,” said State Rep. Jerry Sexton.

“Advanced technology plays a key role in economic development, and we’re excited about this announcement as we work to recruit new business to locate to East Tennessee and encourage existing business to expand in this area,” said Claiborne County Mayor Jack Daniels.

“LMU is often a partner in making great things happen in communities where our campuses are located, but this is an example of how the university benefits from AT&T’s investment, not only for our campus but the area surrounding LMU,” said LMU Board Chairman Pete DeBusk.

“Students and faculty at Lincoln Memorial University can now enjoy faster mobile speeds,” said Alan Hill, regional director, external affairs, AT&T Tennessee. “We know our customers are living their lives on the go. We want to help them get the most out of their mobile devices, whether they’re watching videos, texting family and friends or posting to social media.”

AT&T says it constantly invests in its network to give customers the high-quality services they need to stay connected. This helps Tennesseans get the best possible experience over the AT&T network, whether at home, at work or on the go.
