Judge Robert Estep handled several plea agreements last week during hearings in Claiborne County Sessions Court.
Cory Williams, 35, charged with resisting arrest, was sentenced to six months confinement.
William Cheek, 41, charged with resisting arrest, was sentenced to six months unsupervised probation. As a condition of his probationary status, Cheek must pay all court costs in full by a probation hearing on Sept. 15.
Pamela Gail Brooks, 55, charged with driving under the influence and theft under $500, was sentenced to a concurrent 11 months, 29 days BOPP supervised probation with two days confinement. Brooks was given credit for any jail time served. She must pay at least $75 per month in court costs and fines and forfeits $75 to the Economic Crime Fund. Brooks must attend the MADD Victim Impact Panel and is barred from the Walmart premises. Her driver’s license is revoked for one year. This case runs concurrently with a prior one.
David Allan McCarmick, 66, charged with driving under the influence, was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days ETHRA supervised probation with two days confinement. McCarmick was given credit for any jail time already served. He must pay at least $100 per month in court costs and fines. McCarmick must attend the MADD Victim Impact Panel and must complete an inpatient rehabilitation program. Restitution will be determined during a sentencing hearing on Sept. 1. His driver’s license is revoked per the Dept. of Safety.
LaDusta Mize, 32, charged with driving under the influence, was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days ETHRA supervised probation with five days confinement. Mize was given credit for any jail time already served. She must pay at least $100 per month in court costs and fines and must attend the MADD Victim Impact Panel. Her driver’s license is revoked per the Dept. of Safety. Mize is eligible for unsupervised probation once all monetary obligations are met and she is found fully compliant.
Billy W. Eads, 21, charged with possession of methamphetamine and a schedule III drug, was sentenced to a concurrent 11 months, 29 days confinement. Eads was given credit for any jail time served since his arrest on these charges. This sentence runs concurrently with a prior violation of probation case in which Eads failed to report to probation, to submit to random drug screenings, to complete an alcohol and drug assessment and for nonpayment of court costs and supervision fees while on probation.
Julia L. Evans, 41, charged with possession of methamphetamine, was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days ETHRA supervised probation with 30 days confinement. Evans was given credit for any jail time already served at the time of arrest. She must pay at least $175 per month in court costs and fines.
Kathryn M. Kitts, 43, charged with possession of a schedule VI drug, was granted a deferred judgment of one year and sentenced to 11 months, 29 days ETHRA supervised probation. Kitts must pay at least $100 per month in court costs and fines beginning on July 9.
Joseph Christopher Reams, 32, charged with possession of a schedule VI drugs, was granted a deferred judgment of one year and sentenced to 11 months, 29 days ETHRA supervised probation. Reams must pay at least $100 per month in court costs and fines.
Justin T. Cope, 28, charged with theft under $500 (shoplifting) and driving on a revoked license, was sentenced to a concurrent 11 months, 29 days ETHRA supervised probation with one day confinement. Cope was given credit for one day of jail time already served. He must pay at least $100 per month in court costs and fines and forfeits $75 to the Economic Crime Fund. Cope must pay $67.51 in restitution to the New Tazewell Walmart and is barred from its premises. His driver’s license is revoked per the Dept. of Safety. Cope is currently supervised by TDOC in Union County. His supervision may be transferred subject to probation rules and procedures. This case runs concurrently with prior ones.
Sarah Koning, 25, charged with theft under $500, was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days ETHRA supervised probation. Koning must pay at least $50 per month in court costs and fines and forfeits $75 to the Economic Crime Fund. She is eligible for unsupervised probation once all monetary obligations are met and she is found fully compliant.
