A Tazewell woman died Thursday afternoon as the result of an ATV wreck.
According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a Honda ATV was traveling south on Fultz Rd. in Tazewell when it went off the right side of the roadway. It went off a small embankment and struck a tree, coming to a rest against the tree.
The driver was a 13-year-old male who was injured. Nancy Fultz, 70, was a passenger on the ATV and died as the result of injuries sustained in the wreck. Another passenger, a 4-year-old male, was injured as well. The boys’ conditions are unknown.
The wreck occurred at approximately 4:38 p.m.
None of the people on the ATV were wearing helmets, according to the report. No citations or criminal charges were filed.
Several emergency officials responded to the scene, including the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office and Claiborne EMS.
