A man is in Claiborne County Jail and awaiting extradition to Kentucky after an incident over the weekend.

Christopher Alan Davidson, 30, who has a Lexington, Kentucky, address, allegedly made several violations while in Claiborne County recently.

According to a report from the Tazewell Police Department, Cpl. Jeremy Myers was dispatched to the Rose Apartments on Aug. 27 around 2:40 p.m. When Myers arrived, he stated that the owner of the apartments said a male in plaid shorts was knocking on several doors and causing a disturbance. The owner told Myers that the suspect had run toward McDonald’s, located on Hwy. 33.

While Myers was at the apartment, Claiborne E-911 advised him that Claiborne County Sheriff David Ray was on the phone with a female who stated that a male matching the description of the suspect had jumped into the bed of her truck at McDonald’s and wouldn’t leave the vehicle. The female caller had two small children in the truck.

“She had pulled over on Hwy. 33 near the (Tazewell-New Tazewell) Fire Department,” Myers stated in the report. “I arrived at the truck and approached with caution. I observed a male lying in the bed of the truck sweating profusely.”

When Myers asked the man for his name, he said the man told him “Lucas Rogers.”

“The male was acting very nervous and was detained for officer safety,” said Myers.

Myers said that he ran the man’s information immediately through NCIC and was unable to obtain anything by the name he gave Myers.

“I informed the male he was under arrest for disorderly conduct due to the actions of refusing to exit the female’s vehicle,” Myers reported. “After informing the male I would be able to determine who he was by fingerprints he advised his real name.”

Myers ran his real name through NCIC and was notified that Davidson was a fugitive from Kentucky for violating parole on a first degree robbery charge.

Myers said he had to physically pull Davidson out of the truck.

Davidson was arrested and taken to the Claiborne County Jail. He was charged locally with criminal impersonation along with disorderly conduct. He is awaiting extradition to Kentucky but is scheduled to appear in Claiborne County Sessions Court on Oct. 27.

“It was quick work by everyone involved,” Myers said. “We got him off the streets quickly.”
