We are very busy at Claiborne High School this time of year. Homecoming preparation is in full swing. Homecoming candidates of all grades are currently fund raising for their campaigns. Student Council has picked the themes for Spirit/Homecoming Week, but they will be released at a later time.

Our beekeeping class, led by Shawn Peters, had its first batch of honey collected for this school year recently.

Seniors need to be in college readiness mode, as deadlines for applications are quickly approaching. It is important that both senior students as well as parents of seniors have their FAFSA IDs ready before their scheduled guidance meeting. If you have a senior enrolled at Claiborne High and are unsure of when your scheduled appointment is, you may call the school.

The Bulldogs took on Northview Academy in this past week’s football game. The Bulldogs put up a good fight but ultimately were defeated with a final score of 23-61. Friday the Bulldogs will be taking on Grainger County at Grainger High School. Kickoff will be at 7:30.

We would also like to take a moment and recognize what a wonderful job our band director, Caleb Howard, has done with our band this year. They have sounded amazing this season and we at Claiborne are very proud of the band.
