Judge Robert Estep approved several plea agreements during hearings in Claiborne Sessions Court.
Christina Gail Overholt, 36, charged with evading arrest, was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days ETHRA supervised probation with five days confinement. Overholt was given credit for five days of jail time already served. She must pay at least $100 per month in court costs and fines. This case runs concurrently with a prior one.
James R. Miller, 32, charged with resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia, was sentenced to a concurrent 11 months, 29 days TDOC supervised probation with ten days confinement. Miller was given credit for ten days of jail time already served. He must pay at least $75 per month in court costs and fines. As a condition of his probationary status, Miller must stay away from the property on which a charge of criminal trespassing was leveled. This case runs concurrently with a prior one.
Nancy Elizabeth Brown, 48, charged with resisting arrest and attempted theft under $500, was sentenced to a concurrent six months unsupervised probation. Brown forfeits $75 to the Economic Crime Fund and is barred from the Cedar Grove Market property. As a condition of her probationary status, Brown must pay all court costs in full by Jan. 12.
Kimberly Nicole Goins, 29, charged with criminal trespassing, was sentenced to 60 days probation and is barred from the Walmart Store property and its parking lot. As a condition of her probationary status, Goins must pay all court costs in full by Dec. 6.
Rebecca Carpenter, 58, charged with criminal trespassing, was sentenced to three months of probation. As a condition of her probationary status, Carpenter must pay all court costs in full by Dec. 15.
Michael J. Haas, 46, charged with driving under the influence with children present and an additional charge of driving under the influence, was sentenced to a concurrent 11 months, 29 days probation with 30 days confinement. Haas was given credit for three days of jail time already served. As a condition of his probationary status, Haas was ordered to pay all court costs in full the day of his hearing. He must attend the MADD Victim Impact Panel. His driver’s license is revoked per the Department of Safety.
Stephen Edward Kunpe, 60, charged with driving under the influence, was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days unsupervised probation with two days confinement. Kunpe was given credit for any jail time already served. As a condition of his probationary status, Kunpe was ordered to pay all court costs and fines in full the day of his hearing. His driver’s license is revoked per the Department of Safety.
Jerry Wayne Asher, 45, charged with vandalism under $500, was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days ETHRA supervised probation with one day confinement. Asher was given credit for one day of jail time already served. He must pay at least $150 per month in court costs and fines and must make restitution to his victims in the amount of $500. Asher is eligible for unsupervised probation once all monetary obligations are met and he is found fully compliant.
Rita Fay Long, 23, charged with two counts of theft under $500, was sentenced to an effective two years ETHRA supervised probation with 19 days confinement. Long was given credit for 19 days of jail time already served. She must pay at least $100 per month in court costs and fines and forfeits $150 to the Economic Crime Fund. Long must pay $900 in restitution to her victim. She is eligible for unsupervised probation once all monetary obligations are met and she is found fully compliant.
Jerry Dean Sweeney II, charged with one count each theft under $500 and driving on a revoked license, was sentenced to a concurrent 11 months, 29 days unsupervised probation. Sweeney forfeits $75 to the Economic Crime Fund and must pay $168.06 in restitution to his victim. As a condition of his probationary status, Sweeney must pay all court costs and fines in full by Jan. 12. He was granted unsupervised probation because he resides in Pennington Gap, Virginia. Otherwise, he would be under ETHRA supervised probation.
Rhonda Lee Dillman Justice, 36, charged with theft under $500 and violation of the driver’s license law, was sentenced to a concurrent 11 months, 29 days ETHRA supervised probation. Justice must pay at least $75 per month in court costs and fines and forfeits $75 to the Economic Crime Fund. She is barred from the Dollar General Store.
Dustin Dallas Drummonds, 29, charged with theft under $500, was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days ETHRA supervised probation with 20 days confinement. Drummonds was given credit for eight days of jail time already served. He must pay at least $100 per month in court costs and fines beginning on Dec. 2 and forfeits $75 to the Economic Crime Fund. Drummonds must pay $88.07 in restitution to the New Tazewell Walmart Store. This case runs concurrently with a violation of probation case in which Drummonds failed to report to probation, to submit to random drug screenings, to complete an alcohol and drug assessment and for nonpayment of court costs, fines and supervision fees while on probation.
Phillip D. McIntosh, 35, charged with attempted theft under $500, was sentenced to an effective six months of confinement. This case runs concurrently with a prior one in which 30 days of the current sentence in this case runs concurrently.
Tiffany Marie Sanders, 33, charged with joyriding and driving on a revoked license, was sentenced to a concurrent 11 months, 29 days ETHRA supervised probation with four days confinement. Sanders was given credit for four days of jail time already served. She must pay at least $75 per month in court costs and fines and $75 to the Economic Crime Fund. Her driver’s license is revoked for one year. Sanders is eligible for unsupervised probation once found fully compliant.
